Discounts/Savings for Moms [moms to be] of Multiples?
What are things you can save on or receive discounts on when you’re buying for multiples?
the only thing I know about is the OshKosh B’Gosh’ Multiplicity Club that my mother in law told me about
we need any discounts/savings we can get along with advice/tips from y’all who have been in a situation like this!
we have enough stuff for one baby [crib, changing table, travel system, etc] but there’s 4 on the way.
also.. what are things that are completely unnecessary for babies? for example: changing tables, personally don’t see the need, but we did go out and get one. we need to save money honestly but don’t want to cut out the important things that we DO and will need
thanks!

The baby monitor was totally unnecessary. Our townhouse was compact enough that I could hear the babies when they cried. And I think they learned to sleep better because I didn’t rush in there as soon as they woke up or started making little noises. They often settled back down and fell asleep again. The changing table, however, was one of the best purchases I made. It had a raised edge, so the babies couldn’t roll off and two shelves for diaper storage, etc., down below. Because I’m tall, it was easier to change the babies there than to be bending over them on a lower surface.
cot sheets – just use single bed sized linen. that way they can use them for years and years (until the fabric gives out) and all you need to do is fold them in half and you have an excellent size cot sheet that tucks in super well.
baby washers and towels – just use regular washers and towels. they work great. and babies like to be all snug in the big towels. my 10mth old loves being dried with my giant bath sheet!
And newborn diapers. I stocked up. And they didn’t fit him after about 2 weeks. We didn’t even go through a whole box! So yeah…that was a waste of money. On that note, don’t go overboard on the wipes either. I bought a huge box of huggies wipes…they gave him a mean diaper rash, so I ended up having to give those all away and switch to pamper’s sensitive wipes anyway.
burp cloths.. the smaller size ones.. total waste.. our son used to spit up like crazy so we just used towels as burp cloths..
A bottle sterilizer is a complete waste. Just boil bottles prior to 1st use for 3 minutes then wash in sink or dishwasher after that. Nothing in the mouth is sterile, breasts aren’t sterile, waste of $ and time
bassinet & bouncer (my son used it maybe 10 times)
Hooded towels! If you’re getting hooded towels, get HUGE ones. My daughter outgrew all of her hooded towels by the time she was two months old, so I just bought two bath sheet towels and that’s what we use now. She can grow into those too.
I also recommend a swing and an infant seat. I use her swing on the second floor of our house. She naps in it and it keeps her happy while I’m trying to get some stuff done. I keep her infant seat on the main floor, I sit her in it when I make meals, do dishes, or when we’re eating. It’s nice to have a little seat/chair on each floor so that I don’t have to haul her chair around every time we move around the house.
Don’t buy the Little Noses Newborn Kit. I’ve seen it at Babies R Us. It comes with all different medicines for a newborn. Yeah, if you read the directions, most of those meds can’t be given until the child is 2! Then you’ve wated all that money on meds that will expire before you can give to baby. Just buy the Saline Spray all on it’s own. It will come in handy.
I was NOT impressed with the Fisher Price "Open Top Swings". They look great….. but you only have 2 recline positions and they are hard to adjust. Also, your baby can only be in there until they can sit up! So, you can only use the swing for 4-5 months or they can tip over and cause baby to be hurt! For that price, it was a WASTE of money. Sooooooo disapointed in that.
that all from me, i got a bit carried away, and i might of repeted myself, but i hope it helped you, good luck to you 4 babys, good health to them oh and one more thing
when you go onto babys websites ask for fsamples\freebies and do that for all of them, soom you will have a load of gifts for freee xx
