Would you like to be paid for riding in the lift?
If you work for Rochdale Council you would be.

I wonder if those in the house of commons have thought of this one?
Ditto 1 Hypocrite and agree with 2.
OMG I remember Debenhams having a lift attendant when i was a kid, as if customers werent able to press buttons by themselves. Cushy job!!

We used to have one of those old fashioned cage lifts in the coop. It was a plum job for some wee boy to work the lift on a Saturday afternoon. I would have loved that job when I was wee.
I could care less if staff in Rochdale council get paid for using the lift.
1. I don’t live in Rochdale
2. It’s likely they spend half the day on Yahoo Answers or Facebook anyway.

The question of being able to clock in on time depending o how the lifts run is a valid one because if you clock in late then you are penalised but if the lifts have been upgraded and there is no longer a problem then there is no need to pay the allowance
We have known for years that everyone from the Mayor and councillors have been over claiming their allowances. Bureaucracy has its perks, we just foot the bill but what can you do, we let the defunct systems run.
We should be asking the questions from the House of Commons to local councils so who do you blame.
