Between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday-Friday the fare from zone 2 to zone 1 is £2.00 (£1.50 at other times). It's 50 pence more from zone 3. These are Oyster Card prices. If you pay cash it's £4.00 at all time, the only thing with Oyster is you have to be sure to touch in and out otherwise there is an automatic penalty of £4.00.
References :
you would pay 4 pounds return peak time and 3 pounds off peak.

if you wanted a weekly you would need Z1-2 at a cost of 24 pounds but if you have the time you could take a bus from London bridge to elephant/castle and you would only need Z2-3 much cheaper 15.60
References :
tube worker

Yes, that's correct. If a station is listed as being in two zones (i.e. it's on the border), then the cheaper fare is charged, so coming from London Bridge yes, it's a Zone 1-2 journey. It would only be counted as being in Zone 3 if you were coming from the other direction (i.e. Morden/Colliers Wood) as that again is the cheaper option.

So you would pay for a Zone 1-2 journey the cost of which is £2.00 peak, or £1.50 off-peak.

You can find all the information on Transport for London's site.
References :
www.tfl.gov.uk
