How do I get holidays really cheap?

Someone I know is constantly going on cruises, which I know are expensive, and when I told her the price of my family holiday per person, she told me her whole family could go for less than that price (£700 aprox.) because her dad ‘knows’ the websites to get them from.
Does anyone know what these websites could be, not just for cruises but all types of holiday and days out?
