What are some good tips to get cheap airfare?
Are there anytime that are the best to get a ticket or if you leave at a time and anything else you can think of.

Check web sites like expedia for best fares on most airlines but to NOT forget to check southwest.com and jet blue (I think) separately, as they do not use the SABLE reservation system so you won't find them other than on their own web sites.
Start checking for cheap tickets a couple of months off

Only real tip is earlier you purchase the better.. All the discount sites like orbitz travelocity etc have the same fares. You will not find some incredible fare at one site opposed to the other. Go to southwest.com and jetblue as well, their fares are not available on these sites… If you want to make a bunch of connections you could save some cash but trust me direct flights are worth paying a little more
