Yes, September is a good time to visit NY. The weather is nice then and it’s not very crowded. Sorry, can’t help with hotels, maybe you should do some research on tripadvisor.com.

I’ve never tried to cash in miles that far in advance, but haven’t had any problems when I do want to use them either though. I’ve only used the full awards rather than the saver awards that have limited seats availaility and blackout dates. 11 months seems like a very long lead time though; schedules aren’t really known that far in advance.

I use Primo Vacations and I get to travel all over the world and with my pass I can stay at Condos worldwide for prices like $100 for an entire weeks stay. We have discounts on Airfare and cars too. Why stay in a hotel when you can get a Condo for less then rent?

Eurostar (train) is the quickest and easiest. You may find a budget airline flight for less money but it’s more hassle. Eurostar takes you from the center of one city to the center of the other.

New Year in either city is expensive. For London the West End and Trafalgar Square are the popular places to go. In Paris the Champs-Elysse and Arc du Triomphe (spelling is probably wrong) are very good areas. Be careful in Paris they like to throw fireworks into crowds of people which can get scary.
