what are the cheapest cruises departing NYC?

I have a week off starting March 20th. Tickets for miami are too expensive and its too late for me to go there, so NYC is the closest place to me that has cruises. I want a cruise that will leave from NYC and come back a couple days later or before the end of the week. If anyone can give me a website for the cheapest cruises for what I am asking that would be great.

There aren’t going to be any three or four-day cruises from NYC at this time of year – they can’t go anyplace warm in that timeframe. In the summer, you can sometimes find short cruises to Canada from NYC.

Can anyone recommend a cheap cruise vacation to the Bahamas or Caribbean?

My husband and I are a little tight on cash but still want a nice 3-5 day cruise.

All the major cruise lines do 3, 4 and 5 day cruises to the Bahamas from pretty much any port in Fl.
They all run in the $100pp/day range. If you look you can sometimes find them at half that price.

You can try directly on the site of the ferry company.
Depending on where you leave from that will be:

An other option is to search, when I entered Minicruise I got several results with offers, but as I searched within the Netherlands, the links I got were not useful for you.

In all above cases there is an easy connection to Amsterdam, but I would personally not do the 2 night version, which means that you will get about 5 hours in Amsterdam, but go for a slightly longer version, whereby you stay in Amsterdam 1 or 2 nights.

Would Carnival or Royal Caribbean be a better cruise choice? It seems Royal Caribbean is more expensive. I’d like to find something cheap in the Caribbean for December 2010 after Christmas. Any ideas? Any great myrtle beach,sc places that are in the center of everything that would be a good recommendation, that is right on the beach?

First…there are no "good beaches" on the Atlantic coast in Jan. The water is COLD, and the temps can be as well.
Second…I suspect Carnival will be , on average, a little cheaper than RC. Don’t know what you consider cheap but the 3-4 day cruises to Nassau and The Bahamas are about as cheap as you can get. Go to cruisesonly.com and check out your options. There a good trustworthy site and easy to work with
