Amtrak from NC to NY?
Im going from NC to NY round trip and I heard it was cheaper to travel on certain days. If so, which days are the cheapest? Is it cheaper to book them in advance? Is there a way to get them at a discounted price? My friend said she paid $75 for hers but the lowest I found was around $120. What about the weekly deals? I have never taken the train before and im new at this so any tips or advice is appreciated.
Btw, I know its a long train ride but im terrified of flying (especially by myself) so taking a train is my only option.

If you are able to get a deal then it can save you money on a ticket. Also they offer discounts for people with AAA and student advantage. It usually is cheaper to book in advance.

Occasionally, check out the amtrak website for updated sales and discounted fares. As the previous answerer mentioned, there are discounts you can get for being a cardholder of these cards:
AAA: 10% off rail fare.
Student Advantage: 15% off rail fare, for students only, need valid card number. it’s like $30 for three years or see if you can borrow a friend’s (they never check SA cards).
